Canada said on Monday evening as Pepsi had garnered full sponsorship of TTC's Lansdowne Subway Station. Ryerson University was recently in talks to rename Dundas Station, but it looks like they were too slow on the trigger.

Flemington also said, "You'd think our corporate tie-in would result in a fare decrease or at least some stability, but no, you're absolutely incorrect, fares will increase starting tomorrow. Our Pepsi decals are created and imported from Germany, ha, that costs alot of money in shipping!"

I'm really looking forward to this one because I may come across as cheerful and outgoing to my friends and family, but to my coworkers I look miserable as fuck, and lonely. Whenever my wife and I take walks through Bloor West Village, we always have a visit to the Bloor Street Chapters that's housed in the old Runnymede Theatre. Built in 1927, it was known for it's stage and music shows, then converted into a movie theatre in the late '30's. I'm an avid reader and I like to purchase books (Hi Poopy), but I find myself wandering and adoring the interior, almost always neglecting a buy. I took some pictures with my iPhone the other day.
It really is worth a subway ride. If this doesn't interest you in the slightest, walk across the street to the New Balance store and cop you some 574's. You deserve it.

It's that time of year again. Where I get an uncontrollable urge to have a mini ramp session. Thanks to my man Ryan at the Baitshop we were able to get a nice little session together. That was my first time there and the Baitshop does it proper. Nice little skateshop with some quality product, an art gallery type of setting that overlooks the mini ramp located below in the garage space. Got myself a shop deck as well, I feel good. The only thing that put a damper on the session was the fact that all of us ate a porchetta dinner earlier. So in order to drop in you had to dodge the lingering stench of leftover porchetta burps.

Ran into this Farmer's Market in the Queen's Quay Terminal today. I asked the friendly woman what the deal was and she mentioned it was something involving proceeds going to United Way. That's good. I was taken aback a few weeks ago when I was unloading my groceries and noticed my garlic came from China. Fe real, China. I've come to grips that most of my gear is made in China, but I didn't know I was fuckin with their produce too. So you could imagine the delight when I noticed a basket of garlic at this little market, Ontario grown at that. Thoroughly enjoyed this movie mainly for the dark American history it expounded and the rebellious nature of a community who couldn't take it anymore. And now it's spiraled out of control with over 15,000 deaths contributed to Crips and Bloods gang warfare. Peralta did an overwhelming job with this movie and the soundtrack especially digs deep. If you're familiar with the above LP, you'd agree that if you were to re-edit the movie with it as the soundtrack, it'd be just as impactful.

Hit up the Manifesto Festival over at Dundas Square last night. Nice Fall evening to enjoy a free, outdoor show. Good on the city for doing something like this, bad on the city for not providing a beer tent or portable toilets. I had an eager anticipation for Jay Electronica's set due to the fact that I admire his wordplay, solid production choices and the fact that he shifts pretty far from the norm. Even without a full length LP, he managed to secure a headlining spot before the legendary Black Thought of The Roots. Turned out to be a pretty disappointing set, every track he performed, slowly ended with him spitting a cappella, and then getting into some sort of sermon and trying to get the crowd to repeat after him. You're in Toronto, we're a shitty ass audience, didn't you get the memo? Anyway, he performed Exhibits A and C in the front row of the crowd which seemed to prep everyone for Black Thought.

Jay Electronica, take notes, this is how it's done. Black Thought spit that no nonsense type rhymes with supporting DJ J. Period. Just an all out freestyle of old school Roots joints and homages to Kane, Rakim and Guru. Dude was breathless, giving us what we wanted to hear. He didnt tell me to say "Do that shit, do that shit, do it!" He just performed like a professional then probably got on a plane and went home.

Looking forward to next year, job well done.

She had the Eggs Benedict and I had the Egg White Omelette with Arugula, Tomato and Goat Cheese. We weren't disappointed at all, the interior design and the bluegrass music was a nice touch too. It's at Bloor and Lansdwone and the wait staff is friendly.

Someone told me that this neighbourhood is now called "Bloordale", hence the name of the resto? I think they should've called the neighbourhood "Blansdowne" or "Lansoor".

You know I really thought I was invincible, thought I was a real tough guy who could stomach anything. Until this, The Human Centipede starring Dieter Laser. Probably the most vile piece of cinema I have ever laid my eyes and brain on. It's a story of a lonely, retired, sleep deprived doctor who is just in need of a friend, even though he says he "despises humans". As the title is somewhat self explanatory, I will just say that there are 3 unlucky tourists who end up in the Doctor's laboratory where all kinds of shit ensues, no pun intended.

If I ever find out that Dieter Laser is going to be the voice of a cute, clumsy villain in a Disney Pixar movie, my word, I will contact the fucken authorities. Dude is mad creepy.

Take a look at some of these pics, I had to stop taking shots about half way through because Blogspot would probably destroy my account if I continued. There is one scene that involves lime green puss that will have you cringing so badly your fists will be dug so deep into your sofa, you'd be like fucken David Blaine levitating.

My first memories of the EX were parking north of the Dufferin gates and walking with my mother and brothers and my father into the fair. The smell has always been special, kinda reminded me of fresh baked donuts. I also remember peaking through the old chain link fence watching the Rolling Stones Steel Wheels Tour at the Old Exhibition stadium.

One time my mother and I went to a Jays game at the stadium and she got hit on the back with a foul ball. She says she doesn't remember that but I think she is just embarassed.

Nevertheless, it's a tradition. Always will be. The Polar Express, Ferris Wheel, Corndogs and Ice Cream Waffles. Don't fuck around.

My Main Man Tony is Boss

Hahahah, that is the first time I have ever used the term "Boss" before. It works well in this situation. Anyway, Tony is the man situated somewhere in Italy, but we get together whenever he's back home in Canada. Got to hang out with him recently and I forced him to drink his first Guinness, he looked good doing so I must admit. And he fucken enjoyed it too. I received a few beautiful wedding gifts grom my man, a bottle of champagne and a cookbook with Tuscan recipes including Aphrodisiac foods such as asparagus, tomatoes, fava beans and such.

I decided to try this: Tagliatelle with Cherry Tomatoes, Arugula and Parmigianno. Pretty simple actually.
Boil your pasta
Add 2 cloves of chopped garlic to a frying pan with olive oil, brown
Add a handful of torn arugula and a nice bundle of cherry tomatoes you cake
Sautee for a couple of minutes, add Tagliatelle, toss, then add parmigianno.
Boom.

Not sure what's up with the post title but I think it's fitting. We found these hot peppers in my friend John's fridge. (Thank you John for letting us have a swim). Not sure who put together this concoction but the taste was something out of this world, the heat, incomprehensible. Boom! These joints were all over my pizza.

Look at how red and sloppy and drunk my lips were. Word to them mysterious hot peppers.

I've been on the Lansdowne strip for a little over 10 years now. It'd be an understatement to say it's got a bad reputation.
But it's true, flowers do grow on Lansdowne. They also grow in my brain, hence my thoughts below.
I draw inspiration from the tired, worn out faces, subway station stink, abandoned storefronts and family values of this hidden gem of an avenue.
Please have a visit.....actually, better yet, fuck off and stay away.
